John 1:6-8

6There was a man asent from God, whose name was bJohn. 7He came as a cwitness, to bear witness about the light, dthat all might believe through him. 8 eHe was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.

John 1:15-18

15( fJohn bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, g‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”) 16For from hhis fullness we have all received, igrace upon grace.
Or  grace in place of grace
17For kthe law was given through Moses; lgrace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 mNo one has ever seen God; nthe only God,
Or  the only One, who is God; some manuscripts  the only Son
who is at the Father’s side,
Greek in the bosom of the Father
qhe has made him known.

John 3:25-36

25Now a discussion arose between some of John’s disciples and a Jew over rpurification. 26And they came to John and said to him, sRabbi, he who was with you across the Jordan, tto whom you bore witnesslook, he is baptizing, and uall are going to him.” 27John answered, v“A person cannot receive even one thing wunless it is given him xfrom heaven. 28You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, yI am not the Christ, but zI have been sent before him.’ 29 aaThe one who has the bride is the bridegroom. abThe friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, acrejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete. 30 adHe must increase, but I must decrease.”
Some interpreters hold that the quotation continues through verse 36

31 afHe who comes from above agis above all. He who is of the earth belongs to the earth and ahspeaks in an earthly way. aiHe who comes from heaven ajis above all. 32 akHe bears witness to what he has seen and heard, alyet no one receives his testimony. 33Whoever receives his testimony amsets his seal to this, anthat God is true. 34For he whom aoGod has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit apwithout measure. 35 aqThe Father loves the Son and arhas given all things into his hand. 36 asWhoever believes in the Son has eternal life; atwhoever does not obey the Son shall not ausee life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

John 5:33-36

33 avYou sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. 34Not that awthe testimony that I receive is from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved. 35He was a burning and axshining lamp, and ayyou were willing to rejoice for a while in his light. 36But azthe testimony that I have is greater than that of John. For bathe works that the Father has given me bbto accomplish, the very works that I am doing, bcbear witness about me that bdthe Father has sent me.
